Doughnut the one of a kind Backpack

There are so many kind of backpack trends and brands today. I have my fair share of favourite collection from Longchamp to Anello and now Doughnut. I have always loved a good functional backpack especially when I travel. Over the years, I have been trying to find one to suit my needs and finally I can say Doughnut really had done a good job in creating one of the most stylish and fashionable multi functional backpacks I have seen by far. Ones where I have a good space with a 11 compartments/pockets in total on the inside and outside… AND yet not too bulky to make it over empower my petite frame.DoughnutMini3.jpg

During my recent travel to Langkawi, my daughter and I used our mini petite doughnut macaroon and we can’t stress how much we love it. My little girl specifically had her colour combination chosen (Iceberg + Sakura) while I was carrying the Limited Edition One Piece Animation/Manga series. It is based on the characters of One Piece representing Luffy, Chopper, Nami, Sanji, and Zoro with a representative sign of character and a motto in Japanese. It was love at first sight when I saw the colour combination for this piece.

DoughnutMini5DoughnutMini8

They come in so so so many variation of colours. Hues of pastel to darker tones to suit everyones style. Whats not to LOVE!!!! I could fit a whole lot inside this backpack and yet it feels remarkably LIGHT. I think it could even be a perfect fit as a baby bag or even a school bag of even a backpack for work for both men and women 😍. Doughnut1Doughnut2Doughnut3Doughnut4

Another bonus point I love is that this backpack is made with high quality waterproof nylon, also known as Cordura. Which means, no worries about having my iPad + Portable Power Bank being wet if I have to run in the rain.

Doughnut5

DoughnutMini7

It also comes in various sizes Mini, Regular and Large. Both my daughter and I carried the mini ones for our recent trip. I somehow prefer smaller backpacks. However, maybe in the future I might consider getting the Regular sized one to add to my collection. 😁DoughnutMini6

Another reason to love is the internal pockets available inside carefully stitched with lined interior to allow separation of items. I can easily fit my passport, wet wipes, tissues, money, phone and more at the compartments and not worry about searching for them items inside the bag with a bunch of other stuff.

DoughnutMini2

Super love it! ❤️ This backpack is thoughtfully designed to fit our daily essentials. Theres also a compartment specifically dedicated to place the iPad. For the Regular sized, it can also easily fit a 13 inch laptop. For further information, do check out their website over at Doughnut Official Malaysia meanwhile check out the VIDEO below to get an idea of how awesome this bag is. 😁 Doughnut Backpack the Best in 2018

Traveling to Korea Part 6

I can’t believe our one week adventure is almost to the end. New memories and adventurous experiences made throughout this trip. Day 6, the weather wasn’t too kind. It was drizzling the whole time hence, we had to change our itinerary with Shopping Day.

We didn’t buy much for ourselves but instead we helped friends to buy some goodies home.

IMG_7911

By night fall, the rain had stopped hence we strolled back along Meongdong streets to have our farewell dinner.

IMG_7900

*cheers to a fabulous family bonding trip*

IMG_7910

SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO TRY THIS!!!

The raw gooey, slimy and sticky texture was quite palatable for me. However, the husband, and kids were very much freaked out watching me eat half of the plate.

The other half, I decided to try to have it semi cooked with sesame oil. This I didn’t fancy so much. I personally find that the sauce somehow over cover the taste of the octopus. Perhaps the sesame oil is too strong for my liking. >.<

The very next day, we had to rush off to the airport rather in the morning. Thankfully, we were able to stop by for a quick breakfast + coffee before heading to the airport.

IMG_7916

IMG_7924

IMG_7926

It took us about 2 hours upon arriving the airport. The husband and I wanted to have our one last meal before the plane ride home.

No meal is complete without LOVE and desserts. 💕

Traveling to Korea Part 5

We started our day by dropping by the famous Osulloc for some amazing green tea while the husband had to do some work.

IMG_7786

IMG_7784

img_7787.jpg

Known to be one of the famous premium green teas that comes in a wide range of variety. Although it is a tad bit pricy but it is most certainly worth trying, especially if you are a green tea lover.

We then headed over to Hongdae, with the intention to check out the famous trick eye museum as well as their famous street food.

The kids obviously had loads of fun there. 😍

Hongdae has many amazing cafes to check out. As the time and weather wasn’t too good, we only managed to check out the lamb cafe.

IMG_7882

We had coffee and their waffles here.

IMG_7878

We then walked along and saw some pretty interesting things and had some yummy street food.

IMG_7892

We then headed for dinner before heading back for the night. 😍 #eatnonstop

Traveling to Korea Part 4

Day 4 in Korea is a Day for the kids. They were extremely excited about today and probably looked forward to THIS DAY the most. WHY? Because today we are heading over to LOTTE WORLD.

Our morning started off with breakfast.

I was in LOVEEE with this..

IMG_7650

It’s so fluffy and soft on the outside (something like sponge cake texture) but it has the most light yet creamy fresh cream on the inside that just ooOOozzeeeee out when you bite it. #deliciousisanuderstatement

My son, on the contrary was obsessed with the cute pororo character printed cheesecake.

IMG_7649

As soon as we finished. We headed to Lotte World.

I have always tried to plan something fun/interesting/amusing for the kids on every little trips/holidays I have, as I believe sometimes kids learn most through fun experiences in life while we are making and creating memories together.

IMG_7659

It was a fantastic indoor theme park and we had quite some fun there too! 🙂

Collage_Fotor

We were there for a good 3/4 of the day and decided to head on back somewhere nearer to MyeongDong for dinner.

On the way back, the boy saw his favourite character again. 😛

IMG_7753

We decided on Mexican for dinner that night.

IMG_7758

Followed by desserts before calling it a night.

Traveling to Korea Part 3

Rise and Shine

It was yet going to be another fabulous day in Korea. WHY? Because today is the day where I will be seeing, breathing, eating and eating and eating all day long.

To be honest, I love to indulge in eating quite a fair bit when I’m traveling which sometimes the husband gets a tad bit scared of my crazy sudden urge of appetite/eating patterns.

Day 3 was planned to be the day where we head on over to Garosu-gil for cafe hoping.

IMG_7595

Doesn’t this look so good?!?!

I was literally in love with the Latte here.

IMG_7604

We walked along the street of fashion and as usual ended up not buying anything. Don’t get me wrong, I do love shopping but sometimes I don’t know what to buy. #wtf #dontwastemoney #goodwifematerial #luckyhusband

Next stop is known as the BANANA TREE

They serve this really cute looking plant like cake which my kids were both freaking out when I took my first bite into it.

IMG_7614

Next stop, we came across this really pretty and vintage looking cafe.

It was really quite unexpected but with very few seats available inside this tiny cafe was half full with customers that we had to walk in to try.

IMG_7620

We ended up ordering high tea there and while I was waiting for them to serve, I walked around and saw these cute looking Rose Financier (which is pretty much like sponge cake if you ask me 😂)

IMG_7622

We were all definitely sugar high after this!

IMG_7628

As much as I would love to eat some more… the husband and kids were pretty much giving me the NO MORE EATING LOOK.

We then headed back to MyeongDong and guess what… the little girl was so amazed by tornado potatoe that we got one for her to try.

IMG_7637

to my surprise…. she could actually finish the whole thing!!!!

#gluttonyisinourgenes #wecaneat

Once she was done… we headed on to explore the Duty Free Malls before heading back for the day.

IMG_7639

Opps.. no. It wasn’t exactly like that. We actually went back to MyeongDong and had some food before heading back home. 😁

Traveling to Korea Part 2

Hello readers! Day 2 was a day filled with fun adventure. Starting the day out early we headed off to Myeongdong in search for food. Our mission was to search for the famous Issac Toast. It wasn’t too far from our location but it did take us a good 15 min brisk walk to get there with the kids.

The line was rather long when we got there. Thankfully it didn’t take too long for it to be our turn.

Verdict. It was definitely something worth trying. We ordered 2 toast surprisingly the kids finished up most of it for us. 😂 😍 #aslongastheyeatallisgood

We then headed for Coffee. I was once told that Korean has pretty amazing coffee and both the husband and I do not deny it.

IMG_7504

Sometimes I think it could be the milk they use. It’s creamy but light at the same time (does that makes any sense?)

IMG_7506

We walked along and the next thing we saw had me and the little girl grinning from cheek to cheek.

IMG_7518

This is so darn pretty! AND its made from premium quality ingredients too!!!!!!

IMG_7527

Our next stop was to visit the all time favourite tourist spot Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was only about less than 3km away but we decided to catch a cab there instead of walking with the two little ones. 😂

The Palace was really huge. We were extremely thankful that even though the sun was shining it wasn’t hot at all. As I could describe it, we had fabulous weather that afternoon.

IMG_7531

We then walked along Gyeongbokgung area and decided to head on over to try the famous Tosokchon Samgyetang.

IMG_7540

IMG_7542

Once we had gotten inside and settled down. We (the husband and i) pretty much had our main focus right on the KIMCHI. It is SOOOO GOOD!!!

IMG_7543

They packed little cute bottles of ginseng to be added into the chicken broth to combine with its dish. Despite it being a bit pricy, the kids definitely loved the chicken.

*which this momma has missed out on taking the photo* >.<

We then headed over to Dongdaemun but shopping wasn’t our priority for this trip but the little girl insists she wanted a photo with LINE BEARIMG_7555

…..back to MyeongDong we headed and soon after our first damage was made…

IMG_7572

#weirdpeople #comekoreabuyjapanesestuff #weloveonitsukatiger

*I swear, MyeongDong left us with quite a positive impression after our first purchase* 😂

Later that evening, the husband had an itch to scratch. YESSS.. SALSA!

Traveling to Korea Part 1

I love traveling. Who doesn’t , right?

…get to explore a new place.. breathe in new air… learn a new culture… see fantastic architecture… try amazing new food.. see some amazing people…and the list goes on and on and on..

KoreaTripPart11

It was recently that we (my family and i) traveled to Korea. It has been a place that was on my bucket list to visit other than the amazing Japan that I can never get bored of exploring. But the decision to visit the country was pretty much a no brainer especially when I have been completely hooked with Korean Dramas lately. Secretly madly in love with Ji Jang Wook and Sunghoon which the hubs has been strangely supportive with my newly found  affair with them on TV.

Collage_Fotor

Back to the trip…..

As the kids are no longer toddlers, they are now much easier to communicate with (as for which if they will listen or not, thats another story to tell all together… HAHAHHA). I have been really thankful that traveling by air with them has always been smooth sailing.

KoreaTripPart12

Our flight was 8am in the morning hence we had to be at the airport by 6am. We called the cab to pick us up which he came around 5am. Needless to say, the kids were knocked out a couple of hours in our flight and both had an hour plus nap (woohoo … break time for me!)

KoreaTripPart13

I was pretty excited as I didn’t know what to expect when we reach Korea so I was up all the way.. 😁

KoreaTripPart14

We arrived around 3:30pm and by the time we reached our Airbnb at almost 5pm and was ridiculously hungry!!! I had a pathetic tasting Nasi Lemak on the plane which I ended up not eating.

On the contratry, upon arriving our Airbnb was really fantastic. It is located at Cheonggyecheon-ro Stream which was only walking distance to Myeongdong. Large enough to fit 6- 8 pax. Depending on how big/small you are in size.

It was a loft style concept and I was completely in love with the design of this place when I first saw it. It reminded me bit of Japan as it was pretty small and cozy. We couldn’t exactly stand up and walk around upstairs as we needed to crawl to move from one place to another. For me and the husband, it was a pretty cool experience. Once we dropped our bags we went on our first Food Hunt.

We walked across the street to arrive at Myeongdong and soon saw this BBQ restaurant that caught our eye.

KoreaTripPart15

We ate and ate and ate..

Collage_Fotor

The food was amazing!

We then walked around Myeongdong Street and did a bit of shopping and more eating. 🙂

KoreaTripPart112

By now, it was close to 9pm and we were all pretty tired, but excited at the same time. Time seems to past really fast too. It was definitely way past sleeping time for the kids. Mind you, my kids sleeps really early everyday and they wakes up really early as well. So soon after dessert we decided to head back to rest.

Soon after bathing, my babies were snuggled up sleeping together while I had the perfect view to watch them sleep throughout the night. #preciousmoment #motherslove

Tips for Traveling To The Beach.

998970_10151917913348092_1651141950_nI have always loved to have a relaxing holiday by the beach. Staying in Malaysia i have been blessed to be able to head to the beach almost at anytime we wished, much thanks to our tropical climate here. The beach is probably the best destination to rest, recuperate, relax and enjoy. Studies said that having holiday at the Beach can help to unstress body and mind, other than that it will increasing positive mood.

10425394_10153221206663092_8545181352583056931_n

Going to beach seems to be easy, but there are many things you should prepare before you go. Here is some tips for travelling to the beach:
Use your sunblock – One of the most important thing before going to the beach. Use a proper sunblock with SPF to protect your skin from UV A and UV B. It also can prevent you to get a darker skin and sun brunt that could ruin not only your skin but also your holiday.
Wear sunglases – Although seeing the beach could relax your eyes, but the sun does not. After protecting your body from the sun, its also as important to protect your eyes. Ultraviolet can iritate your eyes and in an extreme case it can causing blindness. Bright light also can hurt the retina. So you have to protect your eyes with sunglases in order to keep your eyes healthy.
Choose the beach wisely – Even some beach are looked like the same, but you have to carefuly choose your beach destination. Pick the beach with good environment, bright sea colour, friendly local, good view and good resort is a must.
Go in the good timing (sun bright, no rain) – Good timing is crucial thing if you want to traveling to the beach. During the monsoon which is from October until late February is the time you have to avoid if you want to go to the beach. Many restaurant and resort are close because of the strong winds and heavy rains. Mid year is the best choice to go to the beach because it is a summer time. You can see beautiful sunrise or sunset across the beach and doing sunbathing in the afternoon.
Watersport – Challange your self in the beach! It’s the best alternate to having a healthy and fun sport plus holiday for you. Don’t forget to check what kind of watersport available in your beach destination such as jetski, parasailing, snorkeling or even scuba diving. Its the perfect way to keep your body fit in and after the holiday.

1186029_10151920052648092_206675624_nDream beach around the world – There are so many beaches around the world and i would most certainly hoped that one day i am lucky enough to visit all these wonderful beaches. For those who are like me and would want to go to visit these beaches as your next holiday destination, there are some dream beaches around the world for your recommendation for your upcoming holidays. My Tips for Traveling With Young Children

imageI have always love traveling. Who wouldn’t right? Exploring a new country or even a mini holiday in the same country is still a holiday to me. However, my world changed 180 degrees once my kids came into the picture. Traveling became a CHALLENGE!

I was rather down and lived my months staying at home and not going anywhere. Traveling became a hassle. I hated the idea of bringing the kiddos on trips even with help. Because, truth be told, it was never the same again!

One fine day, i had an inspiration to change my perspective of how i viewed life and i started managing the differences of my lifestyle as well as my metal thoughts. This opened up a new door for me. My negative aspects of traveling with my kids became positive. I began to enjoy every little thing about traveling with them. It became one of the most beautiful experiences you can have as a family. Perhaps they are now older and understand better, as some may say. But truth is, kids are still just kids. I learnt to nurture the moments even with the battles of whines, cries and fights with a fun and loving solution. The fear for the worst i challenged it with my concept of better planning, time management and the importance of patience. Soon enough, my nightmare i once feared, became a beautiful blessing.

imageRight this moment, i’m traveling again. Be it for work and/or for a vacation i am thankful for having them with me at all times. So, i decided to write this post just in case there are any other parents out there like myself once upon a time ago…with children similar ages to mine…who are scared about upcoming travel plans and impeding meltdowns.

imageThese are my tips…lessons I’ve learned (often the hard way) while traveling with the kiddos. It’s a bit lengthy…

image

Pack smart. Pack the bare minimum because you can always buy it there. Roll clothes and stuff socks and underwear. Wear your heaviest clothes on the journey/flight. Encourage kids to choose and pack their own clothes to minimize complaints and to teach travel skills. Select versatile and comfortable clothes and color-coordinated separates so if something gets dirty you only have to change part of the outfit. And pack bags with what is needed first on the top — a change of clothes for dinner, pajamas, or what is needed during the day including a change of clothes in case of accidents or overly sweaty moments.

The travel bag. This is key. And not just any bag.
A tote generally works best. Mine has lots of compartments, opens easily and wide, is able to be reached into without having to unzip a million zippers and allows me to load up all the necessities with minimal stacking. The idea is that at a moments notice I can reach in and grab exactly what I need before meltdown ensues. I like for the bag to be large enough to hold everything I need, but small enough to be stowed underneath the seat in front of me for easy access.

Diapers and wipes. Even if your kid is well potty trained and can hold his/her bladder like a pro, accidents do happen. It happened various times to me and the hubs, that we were forced to pull over to the side of the road because the kids really had to go! There wasn’t a bathroom in sight. Hence, sometimes traveling it might not be a bad idea to bring some overnight diapers. These come in larger sizes and can hold a lot of liquid.

Breaks. Its always good for you and the kids to stretch during road trips. Be careful and only stop at proper rest stops. It is important to visit well-lit, populated places that have lots of people and ample parking.
Snacks. Its pretty much assumed you will travel with juice boxes and kid snacks. Try to bring along car friendly snacks that won’t get messy during the ride, such as bread, apples, bananas, carrots, celery, cheese and pretzel sticks. This will help to reduce the number of fast food meals eaten on the road. I usually prepare them into individual servings in zip lock baggies so they lie flat.

Medication. It is extremely important to bring along basic medication and vitamins for kiddos at all vacations, be it short or long. The idea of having a sick kid along with you is never fun however with medication on hand can save you quite a lot of hassle.

Entertainment. Usually with active curious toddlers its always a big plus to bring activities to keep them entertained. For me, i usually allow my kids to choose their favourite toy to bring along which they end up role playing over and over again. Alternatively, you can also bring along some colouring books or their favourite DVD’s to watch in the hotel or the car (if you have an option to watch DVD’s in the car along the way).

image

Breathe. I tell myself to breathe at all times. Not everything is within our control. Occasionally we just got to deal with the situation as it comes.. like for instance… If a toddler is cranky, and whiney it is a sign that they need your attention. Like babies, it could be because they want something, hungry or even just plain tired.imageReminding myself constantly that holidays are about family, friends and food. In a matter of hours, memories will be created with loved ones and with all the excitement in mind it is enough to forget that you have to make the journey back in just a matter of days.

imageMental strength. It is normal for kids to be kids. They will still do the things they do to drive you up the wall. They will fight, cry, complain, whine and act up just to press those buttons which you try so hard to control. But if you take a deep breath and analyse it out of the box, you will begin to see that your beautiful children which were once ever so tiny has grown up. As a parent, we have achieved thus so far and this beautiful journey still continues.imagePatience is the key when you have a child. Studies shown, a successful yet healthy relationship occurs when parents embrace their child with patience. No loud screaming will make situation better. No act of the hands or hurtful words can bring good to your child. Although at times, its hard to bite our tongue and control ourselves but when we are able to control our negative perspective from our mind a healthier relationship and communication will be created in the long run. Strengthen the focus of family bonding during the vacation. No negative act will create a happy traveling experience for anyone. So keep that mental objective embedded into the heart and enjoy every second of your vacation with your loved ones. God bless! 🙂

2015, Osaka Japan

Osaka is one of my favourite places to visit in Japan. The vibrant colours surrounding the tall buildings just brightens up my mood and the amazing smell of the street food just tantalises my tastebuds. After spending 3 days and 2 nights in Kyoto ( Click here to read it ), we (the family) were looking forward in exploring further in Osaka.

In Osaka, there are a few things i personally love to explore. This trip unfortunately hubs and my little girl were not feeling that great so we had spent most of the trip indoors.. IMG_0324

imageResting.

IMG_0295

Hence, this means minimal sight seeing and most of our activities involves on indulgence on food and rest.

IMG_0336

We did walked a little on the first day along Dotonburi. The smell of grilled food along the walkway of Dotonburi was enough to keep my eyes peeled wide open. I just feel like eating everything i can see. It was superbly dangerous to my diet but definitely worth it!

The aroma of these Grilled Scallop topped with garlic and butter caught us in a jiffy! It was Super YUMS!

We also had the famous Ichiran Ramen. I discovered it to be my sons favourite during my Tokyo trip. He practically can finish the whole adult bowl.
IMG_0256

IMG_0257
The steps are very direct and clear on what we needed to do. And the eggs were simply like heaven~ IMG_0254

Needless to say, my daughter the egg lover ate 2 and wanted more! >.<IMG_0259

IMG_0262She really loves the eggs.

Next, there were these charcoal grilled crabs.

IMG_0283These are simply to die for. The smell of the charcoal on the crabs were so authentic and the crabs were so sweet. I totally enjoyed it that hubs surprised me with them again the night before we were suppose to leave.

IMG_0340

*heartmelts*

Yakitori stalls are my favourite. Ever since i have been introduced to eating chicken bones (yes grilled chicken soft bones) i have been madly in love with them. Having to enjoy them in Osaka was a pure luxury as expected, it tasted so good!

Although not in tip top condition, we still did manage to have a good time together.

IMG_0391

Already, i can’t wait for the next trip! 😛
