Hypno Birthing “The Gentle Birthing Bootcamp”

Being pregnant twice in this lifetime has been truly a blessing. It has not only opened my eyes to learn how amazing the role of Mothers are. Ever since being a mom, I have always seek to give my children the very best I can. Today, I would like to share with you something I perceived to be a magical knowledge that I wished I had the opportunity to have learnt when I was pregnant.

It was only recently, I came across HypnoBirthing. Like many, I myself was curious to learn more about the choices of birthing we have as mothers. AND HypnoBirthing is actually all about JUST THAT.
As what I have recently found out, the name itself/association with hypnosis raises many misconceptions. Hence, I wish to share this out to all as I have learnt that there will be an upcoming bootcamp to share some love and spread awareness to all.
Here’s a little bit of information about what I have learnt thus far.
Hypnosis is NOT :
– losing control of your mind
– revealing family secrets or bank account details 😛
– an eerie, trance-like state
In fact, you are fully in control and it is a very natural state of the mind. Daily examples of hypnosis is daydream, driving on auto-pilot, engrossed watched TV, the state between half asleep and half awake (so at least 2x a day before we fall asleep and before we become fully awake).
HypnoBirthing is NOT:
– water birth or home birth. Majority of HypnoBirthing mums birth in hospital – dry birth
How Does HypnoBirthing Work
HypnoBirthing works on both the conscious and subconscious mind – which is way more powerful than conscious mind.
Conscious mind – knowledge on natural birth process and thorough preparation for their birth – birth plan, nutrition, exercise, birth companion role, bonding with baby, body’s perfect design of birth so mums feel confident in their innate ability to birth
Subconscious mind – Fear release through hypnosis – releasing all subconscious fear + daily practising of positive affirmations of birth so the WHOLE mind becomes positive.
The body is a robot of the mind – once mum has a positive mindset, her body will follow suit. Body reacts positively when it is time to birth and relaxes so baby comes easily.
HypnoBirthing  has a 12.5 hour highly comprehensive childbirth preparation class. A usual hospital antenatal class spends 1-2 hours on birth. That is not enough.
Teaching many techniques too – breathing, relaxation, deepening relaxation, visualisation & affirmations. The Gentle Birth Bootcamp is a 3 hour sharing on positive birth.

Background on The Gentle Birth Bootcamp

The objective of this bootcamp is to raise public awareness of the importance of a gentle birth experience for the whole family. There are also many things that new parents are unaware of. Simple knowledge that could make a BIG difference in how their experience can go.
Baby With Bee is an independent antenatal education provider that teaches parents things that are not normally taught in typical hospital antenatal classes. Teaching a childbirth technique called HypnoBirthing and other baby-centered classes like infant massage, breastfeeding and newborn care classes are also apart of their program.
More on Gentle Birth
The topics that covered during the bootcamp include:
– what is gentle birth
– why is it important
– how your birth choices impact your breastfeeding success
– what is HypnoBirthing and how it can help you achieve an easier, more comfortable birth
– Birth positions
– how to prepare your birth plan
– chance to listen to sharing of positive birth stories by couples who have been there & DID IT!
– infant massage and why it is important
Did you know that birth positions can make a lot of difference to a laboring mother’s level of comfort? My baby girl was a breach baby and somehow it did take a toll on my back when I was pregnant with her. Despite that, I too had a very narrow pelvis to begin with hence, in the end I had not much of a choice but to opt for C-Sec for both my children.
Did you know that there are many ways that a birth companion can help during labor? Dads love to be part of the birth process but are often reduced to being part of the wall flower, just trying to stay out of the way and not faint. During HypnoBirthing class, they teaches dads what to do to care and support and encourage their wives. Dads are very empowered with the knowledge they gain from classes and go on to be very hands on fathers.
There are so much more to share and they would be doing so in the upcoming Bootcamp event
“The Gentle Birth Bootcamp” which will be held on the 14th May 2017 at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club.
Ticket Pricing
It is a highly subsided event, made possible with the support of sponsors and they are charging a minimal of RM 80 per couple but currently they are offering an extended early bird fees of only RM 50 per couple or RM 80 per 2 couples. *Not sure when this lasts, so be sure to be quick to reserve your spot with them*
For further information you can check out their website over at www.babywithbee.com.
And if you do have the time.. check out this cool Video.
Hopefully, the information above inspire you as much as it had inspired me. Now, I can’t help but cheekily wonder how fun it would be if I am pregnant once again. 😍 #justsaying

MIA with a Big Ass News! I have a Baby Tidus in my tummy!

Having a wonderful baby girl is not the only great thing that happened to me this year.
We’ve also moved into a new comfortable home which we’re all reluctant to leave the house now.Keeping up with the new chores is something that ironically am enjoying. Yet i’m still learning to juggle my time as a wife, homemaker, a mom and a daughter.

Then this happened…

Hello! Baby no.2!

And that is why i have been MIA lately.

I pray hard that this baby will treat me kind and hopefully no morning sickness. My body is slowly balloon-ing and is speaking a language i have once forgotten. My brain has turned into jello and it has taken an actual effort for me to even ‘touch’ the computer.

Hello my precious little moonflower – Baby Yuna!

Time is so limited these days even though i’m stuck at home during confinement doing nothing but taking care of lil Yuna. Never in my life did i imagine taking care of ‘our own child’ can be so breath taking tiring!!!! My endless sleepless nights continues as lil Yuna slowly learns to adapt into this world. I wanted to post this many weeks back but obviously i wasn’t able to find ‘the right time’ to do so~

This is me 3 weeks ago with Baby Yuna inside of me. I was admitted on the 23rd of December with much anticipation in meeting Yuna on xmas eve. Everything went on smoothly as per planned.

Although fears of giving birth was on my mind most of the time i couldn’t help but to smile when i think of meeting my daughter for the first time.

Very reluctantly, i changed into those ugly green looking gowns and waited to be rolled into the operational theatre.

Once inside, my thoughts went wild! I was so terrified about everything that was about to happen. Thank god i had an excellent doctor who kept me calm throughout the whole process.

Once i was drugged~ everything was heavenly perfect!

And the next thing i knew~ my lil Yuna is born into this world!

Priceless moments…

Me and my lil moon flower.

Preggers Update : Part 9 (Week38.6)

This is probably the last post i’ll be posting about my preggers update considering the she is finally coming out tomorrow!

It is ironic how the brain works. When i was in the early stage of my pregnancy, i’ve always wished for ‘THE DAY’ to arrive! Now, i wish i can skip the whole step of giving birth and jump to the part where i hold my baby yuna in my arms.

Reality is, the day has REALLY finally arrived! Fact is, I’m super terrified!!!! I can’t sleep at night till 3am.. and i feel like puking every time i think of what i’ll have to go through in the operation room!

The grand arrival of my little would be on xmas eve morning. I am a little excited but i am more terrified on the whole process before i get to hold her in my arms.

Not exactly sure if it was the wisest choice made but i decided to read up a little so i’ll know what to expect for tomorrow.

Epidural :

Once prepared for the epidural procedure the anesthesia team will come in. This may be just labor and delivery nurse and the anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist. Typically everyone else will be asked to leave while epidural is placed. In some hospitals, doulas are allowed to stay for the procedure, but not your husband.

Will be asked to assume a position that will help the anesthetist find the landmarks on the body needed to place the needle correctly. This maybe sitting up on the edge of the bed leaning over and pushing the back outward or it may be laying on the side curled up in a ball, also pushing the back out. The position is uncomfortable because of the belly in the way.

The back will be washed and a shot of a numbing agent will be given before the epidural. Then the epidural needle is placed into the epidural space around the spinal cord. A test dose is given to ensure that the epidural is in the correct place. Once this test is done the medications are set to a continuous drip. A small catheter is left in place to deliver the medications continuously throughout labor. This catheter is taped up the back so that it is difficult to remove without trying.

May be asked to lay in certain positions for awhile as the medication works with gravity. Nurses will also have your blood pressure monitoring every few minutes, continuous fetal monitoring and other monitoring to ensure reaction is well with the anesthesia.

Once numb, a urinary catheter will be placed because we can’t go to the bathroom.

Cesarean Section :

Pulling out my bravest face, i pack my bags and now am waiting to head to the hospital. It is likely that tonight i’ll be given a little ‘something’ to hopefully help me get through the night and sleep and probably dream of my little princess arriving tomorrow early morning.

Here’s my motivation to get through whatever it is i have to go through tonight and tomorrow~ My sweetheart is so adorable!

*Dear god, thank you for giving me such precious gift. Your early christmas present is always going to be treasured by both me and my husband very dearly. I pray hard ….please let baby yuna be heavy, chubby, beautiful and healthy*

Much Love!

Preggers with Baby Yuna Update : Part 8 (Week 37.5)

As the days gets closer the more freaked out i am! As of today, i’m 37.5 weeks pregnant!

I am due so soon ~ its just a matter of days now. Baby Yuna on the other hand is growing very well. She has grown chubbier all around until she has no space to move. Almost every visit to the doctors we were unable to see how she looks like as all her comfy spots covers up her face. During the most recent visit to the doctors, she already weighs 2.9kg and is still growing! woohooo~ *so exciting to see her grow bigger and heavier* No doubt it has become a daily challenge for me with a heavy baby in the tummy it gets rather uncomfortable when sleeping and walking. But its all worthy~

…. however, my thoughts were a mess a week back when the doctors told me that baby yuna is currently in breech position and needs to have a Csec instead!

how is that possible? whats wrong with my little angel? why isn’t she turning? All the millions of questions popped in and out of my head.

The doctors has given me time to wait for a miracle to happen. It is a 95% possibility for her to make a big summersault and have her head turned down now and her time is running out. 3 more days to go is all she have left and by the 18th of December we have to book a date for the big day.

Mentally i’m still prepping myself. We’ve picked the date and time for the surgery. Somehow i have a feeling she’s won’t be turning now and a Csec is the method she wishes her mommy to have her out in this world.

I used to think that epidural was bad! And that it will hurt like hell plus. But now, what scares me the most is that Csec is going to be done while i’m awake but half paralyze! Did you know the procedure actually takes between 30 min to an hour!!!! How is that not scary? Gotta be awake the whole time!!! Now as i compare epidural with a Csec, i think epidural is peanuts for the few seconds of pain.

Non the less, the excitement that i will be seeing my little angel in a few days time still hasn’t exactly kicked in to me yet. On the contrary, everyone else around me seems to be more excited, especially the daddy to be! Taking things one step at a time is all i can think of. To go through that one hour operation is what i need to do first before any other feelings can come through to me.

Although so~ Baby Yuna knows that her mommy loves her very much and will do just about anything to bring her in this world safe and sound.

Preggers with Baby Yuna Update : Part 6 (Week 30.5 weeks)

Another pregnancy post…

I’m obsessed with my growing belly and feeling Baby Yuna tickling me inside out. Best part is, she does it a few times everyday! *Such a blessing*

Lately, i’ve grown to love wearing my old clothes while i laugh at myself looking in the mirror …when my baby T is left with too little cloth to cover my growing bump. Call me crazy but i actually find it cuteness max!!!

In my previous post as i mentioned, Baby Yuna is growing and has chubby cheeks weighing around 1.4kg! (not sure if thats considered small or big) Check out the video taken during ultrasound. 🙂

Now i’m eagerly waiting for a chance to catch my little princess doing this in the next couple of weeks before she arrives.

How cute is that!!!!

10 Reasons Why I love being Preggie!

Thats me at 28 weeks preggie! Being Preggie has both ups and downs… however, after completing my 2nd trimeseter…i feel my ups over run my downs. Here are 10 reasons why…

1) The daily movements of Baby Yuna moving in my belly is simply priceless.

2) You can eat as much as you want and don’t feel bad about it because it is part of your ‘CrAvinGs’

3) The extra treatment you get for being preggie everywhere you go.

4) Talking to Baby Yuna, seeing and playing with  her while she responds back.

5) The pampering session when the darling husband gives you a back, leg and feet rub after a long day.

6) No excuses. I NEED my afternoon nap!

7) Seeing Baby Yuna during doctor’s visits gets me feeling all happy and blessed.

8) The darling husband’s reaction when he feels and sees the baby moves in my belly is a million dollars!!!

9) To learn about the growth of the bump and my little princess.

10) Laughing at myself as i wear my old clothes and compare how different it looks then and now.

Preggers with Baby Yuna Update : Part 5 (Week 26)

I’m totally enjoying the being preggers! I love my bump and it’s growing bigger each day. This is the recent photo i’ve captured at 25.3 weeks. Baby Yuna is growing big and strong now.

Our recent visit to the doctors were enlightened when we were able to bring home along with us a photo of Baby Yuna. This is how she currently looks like.

The photo isn’t 101% clear but it was good enough for us to catch a glimpse of her! 😉 Who do you think she looks like?

Baby Yuna is doing so well. She has strong movements now and she gives no mercy to her mummy. Check out this recent video i managed to capture. She woke me up from my afternoon nap and i managed to stretch over to get my iphone to capture the priceless moment. Keep your eyes wide open from 10-20 seconds. Her kicks were CRAZY strong!!!!

Stay tuned for the next update!!! 🙂

Preggers with Baby Yuna Update – Part 2 (Week 12)

It was during my last visit to the OB that i had my monthly scan. Baby is doing well and growing fast. It’s really amazing to see my little darling move inside of me.

This video was taken by the husband. He was so excited about the baby that his main focus was not in taking the video. -_-

Non the less, i shall let you observe the clip for yourself.
