Happy Treats for Mochi


It’s finally the holidays and despite being silly with my kids, read, colour and mess up the house…

We decided to whip up our imagination and make something for the youngest member also known as our little fur kid..


What makes the fur kid happy… Treats, Treats and MORE Treats.. so i guess it was pretty easy for us to decide on what we should make..

We wanted to make something pretty easy, healthy, and a big bonus would be to improve her breath. Don’t get me wrong, she smells like a furry princess already but there’s always no harm to make her smelling that bit extra fresh. 😛

*excuse my bland no make up look.. been down with a cold and fever since the weekend and am still recovering >.<*



With simple yet basic ingredients i did all the chopping (sorry kids, no playing with sharp objects in the kitchen especially the knives) while the kids did their job in mixing, mashing and fixing up the dough together.


Ingredients we used are :

1 packet of Apple Mint Herbs

1 packet of Peppermint Herbs

1 bottle of Only Organic Baby Food Puree in Pumpkin & Wild Rice Flavour

2 Small Bananas

1 cup of whole wheat flour

1/4 spoon of baking powder

A pinch of cinnamon powder



It was ridiculously easy as all we did was mix up all the ingredients above together, shape them up and using a fork we pressed them down on the tray.

Results : House smells AMAZING!!! 

Verdict : Yup.. no doubt she loves them!


CHEAT version of Miniature Lemon Loaf Cake 💗


Its been a while since i last baked and today i finally managed to squeeze in some time to make a CHEAT version of Miniature Lemon Loaf Cake. Much thanks to Jo (a momma friend whom i had met through japanese class) for inspiring me once again. 🙂

I have always loved to bake. I enjoyed filling my home with the smell of freshly baked treats. The truth is, the root of my baking has always been for my children. Baking has always been a special bond for me and the kids together. As you can see, they definitely LOVE to help me in the kitchen.




This CHEAT version of Lemon Loaf Cake was influenced by Primrose Bakery recipe. Its ridiculously easy!!!

155g self-raising flour, sifted
1 tsp baking powder
130g golden caster sugar
20g cornflour
155g unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing the tin
3 large eggs
grated zest and juice of 1 lemon

Heat up the oven to 160 degree C. Meanwhile, grease your loaf tin/line it with baking paper.

Sift the flour, baking powder, sugar and cornflour into the bowl of a food processor. Pulse the mixture for about 4 seconds until evenly mixed. Add the butter, eggs and lemon zest and juice and process briefly until evenly blended (about 10 seconds).

Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and level the top with a spatula. Bake in the centre of the oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the centre of the loaf coms out clean. Let the loaf cool in its tin.

Ta-Daaa.. isn’t that ridiculously easy to make?




Bake your Momma Some Scones

imageMother’s day is around the corner and nothing beats baking your Momma something special. For me it’s another story, for Mother’s day i like to make things for my children and love ones. Here, i’m sharing my version of to die for Mother’s Day Scone Recipe with all.

I have always loved scones. It’s crumbly like texture melting in the mouth simply reminds me of a good cookie + muffin dough intertwined making it that much more scrumptious and delicious. Not to mention, it smells so good once it’s baked out from the oven and ready to be eaten. I have tried various recipes in making the perfect scones for both savoury and sweet… but non the less, this is definitely the most requested favourite in my house.

I SWEAR! It’s ridiculously easy to make and my kids loves to help!

Here’s my ALL TIME FAVOURITE recipe for making my pretty famous + awesome scones. One that will get you hooked and yearning for MORE!


325g high protein flour

20g baking powder

40g fine sugar (or less)

pinch of salt

110g chilled butter

100 g dried currents/cranberries

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

150ml whipping cream


Sieve high protein flour, baking powder, fine sugar, salt and chilled butter together until it forms into a breadcrumb texture. Add in your dried currents/cranberries

Mix in egg, vanilla and whipping cream into the mixture until it turns into a dough like texture.

imagePlace the dough onto a floured surface and cut it to your desired shapes.

imageUse egg yolk (not written in the ingredient list) and gently brush along the scones with the egg yolk.

imageBake in preheated oven of 170 degrees celsius for 8-10 min.


It’s so easy to make!! Delicious to eat and plenty of bonding time for me with the kids!

*I bet you can tell how much my lil girl enjoyed herself from the photo of her face. 😀


What more can a Mother ask for, right? 🙂

Osmanthus & Rose Tea Jelly Recipe

Since my last post on Spring Break Indoor Fun Activities i had numerous emails asking about Osmanthus Jelly Recipe as some of you may have already known i added a twist to it. My basic guideline were based on a YouTube tutorial (Much thanks to Girls vs Apron youtube video).

However, i decided to make a batch that has both Osmanthus and Rose Tea.

Needless to say, it turned out to be a delightful hit as i watch both and my children enjoyed them up in a jiffy… I would say, it is perfect for tea/dessert on a warm day.

Benefits :

Osmanthus flower is naturally caffeine-free and consists of dried golden yellow flower buds. Loose leaf is typically made by placing the buds in an infuser and placing the infuser into your mug. The frangrant flower has a slightly sweet, buttery flavor and a flowery aroma. Furthermore it is known to be high in antioxidants.

Rose hips flower (the flowers which have swollen to seed) are an excellent source of vitamins A, B3, C, D and E. They also contain bioflavonoids, citric acid, flavonoids, fructose, malic acid, tannins and zinc.

Here’s my Version of the Osmanthus and Rose Tea Jelly Recipe. 


  • 2.5 Teaspoon Osmanthus Flower
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Rose Flower (i find rose flower tends to have a stronger scent to it, hence if added too much is not advisable).
  • 3 Tablespoon of Wolvesberries (i had mine soaked for only 15 mins in warm water)
  • Konnyaku Powder


Firstly, followed instructions behind the Konnyaku Powder for water quantity and directions and simmer to boil.


Gently stir and you will gradually notice that the texture will thicken slightly. This is normal. When this happens, i added in the Dried Osmanthus leaves as we as the Dried Rose leaves and let the aroma infused into the jelly.


Meanwhile, as the wolf berries are soaked and ready, i placed them into the respective mould without the water. Then, i added in the jelly mixture into the moulds and let them sit in the kitchen for a good 15 min before placing them in the fridge.


The next day, you have your Jelly cold and ready to be consumed. (YUP ITS THAT EASY!)

As i made 2 batches, the ones with the cute moulds were the Osmanthus and Rose Tea Jelly. Where as, the 3 tier moulds were just the Original Osmanthus Jelly.


Personally, i like the looks of the 3 tier ones just because it looks just somehow seems prettier. Wouldn’t you agree? Would definitely make another batch in the near future with this mould. Hope you enjoy trying out this recipe as much as i did! 🙂

100th blog post celebration – Blueberry Greek Yogurt Tart Recipe.

And i’m totally up for a celebration!

imageSo i made a cake. Okay perhaps its not exactly called a cake.. It’s a healthier version of a cake called tart. 😛 (no cream, sugar or flour involved)

And it taste pretty delicious that i’m sharing the recipe with all of you lovelies. I swear it’s so easy to make that you probably can even make it with your eyes close… (hahaha.. okay, probably not with your eyes closed closed.. but you get my drift!)


Blueberry Greek Yogurt Tart

1/2  cup roasted cashew nuts

1/2 cup roasted macademia nuts

1/2 cup roasted almond nuts

150g dried cranberries

1 cup of greek yogurt

2 packets of blueberries.


  1. Soak cranberries in warm water for 10 min. Or until soften. Drain and set aside.
  2. Pulse roasted cashew, almond and macadamia nuts in food processor, add the cranberries in and pulse/blend until mixture comes together. Do not over mix as the nuts will release oils.
  3. Line a 9 inch cake pan with baking paper (spray cooking spray to hold). Press crust at the bottom of pan. Freeze for 1 hour. Remove from freezer and peel of crust. Set on a large plate.
  4. Spread Greek Yogurt (i love this.. so i added ALOT .. and i mean ALOT of it)
  5. Layer the blueberries on top from the side to the middle.

*see i told you it’s really easy! You can even choose various toppings to add.. such as mangos, strawberries, peaches.. etc.

Favorite Flash snack ideas for little humans.

Have you ever feel so routined with whatever you are making for your child to eat is always the same? As an asian momma it is very common for us to get stuck into the all carbs category for our tiny humans…Porridge, noodles and rice.

Well today, I’m going to share with you something a little different. These are a little bit westernized but i promise you it’s actually quite healthy. I’ve done so many research online plus trial and errors on my own kids and here are a few of my favorite snack ideas you can make for your child in a jiffy and it tastes pretty awesome as well! 🙂

peanut-butter-banana-sandwichPeanut butter + Banana sandwich

Slightly toast your bread and smack on some thick creamy peanut butter topped with some bananas.

*Optional* You can sprinkle some himalayan seasalt on top for additional flavoring or you can even do without it.

Pear + Avocado Sandwich pear-avocado-sandwich

Slightly toast the bread and spread a layer of avocado mixed with honey spread on top of the toast. Slice some juicy pear and add them on of the mixed avocado honey spread.

*Optional* You can sprinkle some himalayan seasalt on top for additional flavoring or you can even do without it.

strawberry-goat-cheeseStrawberry + English Muffin bun

Simply divide the english muffin buns into two. You can either spread some goat cheese on top or you can spread some whipped cream. Top this up with some strawberry/berry jam and add the strawberry fruit on top. It’s so easy and totally tantalizing to the taste buds.

Apple + Cheddar + Peanut Butter


Take a slice of normal sandwich bread and spread a generous amount of peanut butter on top. Add some slice cheddar cheese followed with some slice apples.

*Optional* You can sprinkle some himalayan seasalt on top for additional flavoring or you can even do without it.

Juicy baked fish on a bed of french beans + tomatoes

I love fish. I can eat them everyday with no complaints or whatsoever! (What’s not to love right? It’s delicious, it’s healthy!)

I decided to *agak agak* to try my way to create a healthy version of baked fish for dinner last night for myself and the husband.

imageRecipe for Baked Fish

-2 siakap medium sized fish

-himalayan pink seasalt

-olive oil (1/2 teaspoon for each fish)

-1 packet of french beans

– a handful of cherry tomatoes cut to halves

-half a lemon

-mince garlic (1 tablespoon)



First clean and descale the fishes and marinate in a teaspoon and a half of salt. Marinate for a good 30 min in the fridge. Meanwhile, soak and cut the french beans as well as cherry tomatoes.

After 30 min. Heat up the pan on high and pour in olive oil. Gently and carefully placed the fish in the middle and pan fry it for about 1 min turning the fish from side to side. Next, wrap the fish in foil and bake at 230 degree celsius for 15 min.

While waiting for the fish to be done, i added garlic into the existing pan (the pan i fried the fish) and stir fried french beans with tomatoes. Added a little bit of water inside to allow it to steam for 1 min before placing the vegetables on the plate.

By the time the fish is done, unwrap and placed the fish gently on top of the vegetables. I then sprinkled just a tiny bit of himalayan pink seasalt on top of the fish.Cut a slice of lemon and placed it beside the dish and dinner is ready to be served.

I love this dish and would definitely make this more than once. Surprisingly, the husband finished it without a fuss as well (he’s not a fish person). If you’re like myself, someone who loves fish, you will definitely love this. Totally healthy and delicious.

Yogurt+ChickenVocado Egg Toast.

I’m really no expert in the kitchen, but i do like to experiment with whatever ingredients i have and come up with a quick fix or what i call it the no brainer meals.

Breakfast is one of my favourite meals of the day. Starting my day with a healthy yet hearty breakfast somehow brings me better mood, more energy to enjoy and conquer my mornings with a stable, harmonised and chirpy mind. 🙂

Today, i’d like to share with you an extremely easy and simple yet protein filled hearty breakfast.
imageRecipe for Yogurt : 

-4-5 small pieces of dragonfruits

-handful of chia seeds and flaxseeds

-Almond and cashew nuts

-Greek Yogurt

Method :

Add a few good spoonfuls (5 tablespoons) onto your bowl, Followed by some dragonfruits, chaises and flaxseeds and top it of with the nuts. And.. thats it! 🙂

See i told you it was really easy! 

Recipe for Toast : 

-A slice of toast bread (i made two, of for myself and another for my hubs

-An avocado cut int0 halves

-Steamed chicken breast (marinated it overnight with salt, pepper and sake)

-One teaspoon olive oil

-An egg ( i prepared 2 one for hubs and another for myself)

Method : 

I’m quite a multi-tasker so i first toast the bread using my favourite toaster. Meanwhile, i steamed my chicken (takes a good 10min to steam) i then cut and prepare the avocados and used a non stick pan to heat up the olive oil to fry my eggs . Once bread is toasted, i gently placed the cut avocados on the toast. Then i added the ready steamed chicken breast on top of the avocado and my fried egg. I prefer my eggs to be slightly runny, so i had it cooked until white looks ready but the yolk still remain intact but wiggles when i move my pan. Once done, i transfer the eggs and place it on top of the steamed chicken.

Taddaa! It’s done…

I then sprinkle some salt and pepper on top just for taste. It’s easy, it’s tasty and i guarantee it’s healthy!

Monday blue Snack time Perk me up Recipe

It has been about a month and a half the husband and myself has been trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle by changing our eating habits as well as having a good amount of healthy activities done outdoor. We started going to the gym a good hour to an hour and a half per day trying to shed off excessive fats and build strong healthy muscles. With a good support of fitness team in our neighborhood we have gotten on track and stayed on track until we went on our holiday (well, holidays are meant to indulge, right? :p) 

Needless to say, after returning we are back to basics with our diet and fitness routine. Attached below is a personal favorite of mine and it’s simple and easy enough to make.

breakfast snack

Monday blue Snack time Perk me up Recipe. 

1 Rye dill herbed biscuit bread (purchased from ikea)

A generous spread of cottage cheese

Medium boiled eggs cut into slices

organic cherry tomatoes chopped into quarters

sprinkle some salt and pepper

last but not least, slice some bananas on to your plate and you’re done to eat!

It’s simply a no brainer recipe but it’s so tasty that i just had to share. 🙂
