A couple of weeks ago, the husband went to Europe for work. It was probably the longest by far we have ever been apart ever since we were married. Initially, we both didn’t too much of it. 10 days, it isn’t that long and no doubt its going to pass in a jiffy with my time being consumed up with work, motherhood and chores. Furthermore, i thought to myself, we have been married for a good 7 years! A little break makes the heart fonder, right?
Gosh!! It was the toughest 10 days ever! I had been ill for the longest time (caught a horrible horrible horrible influenza from my trip to Japan). I regretted big time for not taking the flu jab before my trip back then. Non the less, a day after he left i had food poisoning which had me cried for help from my neighbours to get some anti vomiting pills as it was late in the evening and i didn’t want to resort to driving myself to the hospital while leaving my kids at home. Thankfully, i felt so much better after the next day!
As we both count down the days till we see each other again, we both missed each other very much. I am very thankful that our relationship is simply so strong that even after so many years of being together we are still working on being that mushy couple like how we have been the very first few months we met.
And so, despite sending each other endless photos of our daily life from what we ate to places we visited/went to…being away from each other, we tried little ways to make each other feel special.. one of which is a collaboration that we had made through SMULE. *Just in case you don’t already know about SMULE, its an amazing app that allows us to sing with various people (good and bad singers – hence please don’t feel intimidated) around the globe.
Before you click on the link below~ let me share with all a little personal story/secret. I have always been really intimidated to sing, especially in front of my husband. Why? Because he is simply just gifted in singing. And ever since the very first day i went Karaoke with him i know for a fact that i was nowhere near that standard, and for a good 7 over years i had never really held a microphone nor sing with him. Whenever i was forced to, i made sure nobody could really hear my actual voice as i will request for backup singing to be left on really loud*
So, doing this really took me a lot of courage, hence.. if it doesn’t sound too good~ please do excuse your ears. >.<
As the days passed extremely slowly, I decided that i wanted to make him feel that extra special when he came back (to show how much i appreciate and treasure having him in my life). Hence, i decided to capture a very personal genuine gifting experience with L’OCCITANE by capturing a genuine gifting experience showcasing my relationship with the love of my life.
I went to L’OCCITANE at the curve to choose the gifts. It took me a good 30 minutes even though i already know the store inside out. I wanted to choose a special gift that i know he would use and appreciate.
In the end, instead of picking him a gift. I got him A BOX of Gifts!
I came home and wrote him a little note and waited for him to come home from work.
I waited and waited.. then finally….
Indeed the moment was simply priceless. Thank you L’OCCITANE for this beautiful experience and this very precious memory and joy for gifting from the heart of love. This very thoughtful and heartwarming process had us expressing so much love, joy, excitement, happiness and desire for one another. Truly, we are extremely thankful and blessed!
