Osmanthus & Rose Tea Jelly Recipe

Since my last post on Spring Break Indoor Fun Activities i had numerous emails asking about Osmanthus Jelly Recipe as some of you may have already known i added a twist to it. My basic guideline were based on a YouTube tutorial (Much thanks to Girls vs Apron youtube video).

However, i decided to make a batch that has both Osmanthus and Rose Tea.

Needless to say, it turned out to be a delightful hit as i watch both and my children enjoyed them up in a jiffy… I would say, it is perfect for tea/dessert on a warm day.

Benefits :

Osmanthus flower is naturally caffeine-free and consists of dried golden yellow flower buds. Loose leaf is typically made by placing the buds in an infuser and placing the infuser into your mug. The frangrant flower has a slightly sweet, buttery flavor and a flowery aroma. Furthermore it is known to be high in antioxidants.

Rose hips flower (the flowers which have swollen to seed) are an excellent source of vitamins A, B3, C, D and E. They also contain bioflavonoids, citric acid, flavonoids, fructose, malic acid, tannins and zinc.

Here’s my Version of the Osmanthus and Rose Tea Jelly Recipe. 


  • 2.5 Teaspoon Osmanthus Flower
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Rose Flower (i find rose flower tends to have a stronger scent to it, hence if added too much is not advisable).
  • 3 Tablespoon of Wolvesberries (i had mine soaked for only 15 mins in warm water)
  • Konnyaku Powder


Firstly, followed instructions behind the Konnyaku Powder for water quantity and directions and simmer to boil.


Gently stir and you will gradually notice that the texture will thicken slightly. This is normal. When this happens, i added in the Dried Osmanthus leaves as we as the Dried Rose leaves and let the aroma infused into the jelly.


Meanwhile, as the wolf berries are soaked and ready, i placed them into the respective mould without the water. Then, i added in the jelly mixture into the moulds and let them sit in the kitchen for a good 15 min before placing them in the fridge.


The next day, you have your Jelly cold and ready to be consumed. (YUP ITS THAT EASY!)

As i made 2 batches, the ones with the cute moulds were the Osmanthus and Rose Tea Jelly. Where as, the 3 tier moulds were just the Original Osmanthus Jelly.


Personally, i like the looks of the 3 tier ones just because it looks just somehow seems prettier. Wouldn’t you agree? Would definitely make another batch in the near future with this mould. Hope you enjoy trying out this recipe as much as i did! 🙂  



    1. It doesn’t taste like green tea nor chinese tea. It is a flower tea so it smells and taste like flowers with a hint of sweetness. It’s really nice! 🙂 You should try it. 🙂
