And nothing beats coming home to a huge package waiting for you to unwrap!image

imageIt was BIG!!! And completely took me by surprise!!!!

imageIt was a couple of weeks back (during Chinese New Year + Valentines Day period) that i received a huge surprise box of happiness package from KOSE Malaysia. Unboxing it had me grinning from cheek to cheek as it was beautifully decorated with details of sweet pink and white balloons and the Kose Sekkisei Trial Kit Set (RM99) that comes along with it.

For over 30 years, KOSÉ SEKKISEI has been known for restoring translucence to women’s skin. Created based on an age-old ‘beautiful translucent skin recipe’, SEKKISEI’s gentle yet effective brightening products are world-famous. Specially-designed for skin translucency, SEKKISEI products harness the power of Oriental Herb extracts, which are carefully-selected from about 100 different plants, creating a harmonious and skin-loving formula that gives women brighter, even-toned and moisturised skin.

I fell in love with these 5 star products from KOSÉ SEKKISEI, which come together in its special edition trial kit! A trio of oriental plant extracts: Coix Seed, Melothria (White Lotus) and Angelica work diligently known to keep the skin in perfect condition, protected from the harsh environment.

Read below for my Review and experience on using the products :

I have always loved beauty products made from Japan and i was eager to try out the amazing wonders Kose sekkisei range has to offer this time around.

I started first with Sekkisei white liquid wash. A liquid wash that provide a skin healthy glow while known to retain its moisture within. Pumping a good 2 pumps onto my palm i gently lather until foam forms and massage gently onto my face. It felt really good and refreshing indeed.

I then tried their special care Sekkisei Clear White Mask.. (it is known as white mask however it is NOT WHITE AT ALL). It is a peel-off mask that removes blackheads, dead skin cells and tighten visible pores. To use, i spread a good lather across my face (avoiding the eyes, eyebrows, hairline ad lips area) and when dried i slowly peel it off inwards starting from the outer areas of the face.

After clearing all the impurities within my skin i then did their Bihadagoyami mask. It was pretty cool as i used the quick lotion mask which surpassingly offers 10x higher moisture that instantly brightens and rejuvenates the skin.

Known to be their star product. Sekkisei Lotion. A refreshing lotion that is suppose to enhance the skin translucency and clarity. I soaked a generous amount of the lotion mask with Sekkisei Lotion and places in onto my clean face for a good 10 minutes.

After the mask. No rinsing is needed which brings me to the next step of Sekkisei Emulsion. It is a brightening emulsion to retain moisture for a supple and soft skin.

Application was to be applied with a cotton and spreading it evenly over the skin. Its milky texture was simply divine. Not oily at all and certainly not sticky, and easily absorbs into the skin.

It is no doubt one of my favourites from this range by far.

I was really amazed by the products upon trying it consecutively for a week (basic care daily and twice i did the special care within 3 days apart).

The SEKKISEI, which is originated from Japan has been trusted and adored by a great number of women since its release in 1985. Its products are designed and created for skin translucency. They are known to harnesses the power of Oriental Herb extracts, which are carefully-selected from about 100 different herbs. Much research had been conducted to develop SEKKISEI, and to achieve the fine balance between oil and water content to result in its fine-textured lotion. Its fine texture, hydrated “snow-white” skin effect has made it KOSÉ’s best-selling product.

Would i use the products again? Most definitely!! I loved the natural refreshing scent that comes along with the product and i could feel the changes it made on my skin. I can’t thank you enough KOSE MALAYSIA and The Butterfly Project Malaysia for sharing and introducing to me such a wonderful products. I had an amazing experience and I am sincerely glad and thankful to have an opportunity to try them.

The truth about Having a Boy and a Girl

imageHaving a boy and a girl is a dream come true to many.. and thankfully i have been bless to be living in that dream. I wouldn’t say my life is perfect having these 2 little angels but it most certainly has brought me much joy, crazy, chaos, messy yet glorious life having them by my side. Truth is life is beautifully twisted when your children are just under two years apart. Here are some eyebrow raising facts about raising one of each..

  1. They play, fight, scream, laugh, tease, annoy and cry at each other. This can be both a pretty and ugly sight. They can be fighting one minute and hugging and kissing the very next! (i totally don’t get it!) I often try to explain the idea of taking turns, being polite and manners.. but kids being kids.. mischief is in their blood.
  2. They often get mistaken as twins. My daughter being a tad bit on a smaller scale in size very often is mistaken to be the same age as her little brother. Non the less, her mom is also pretty petite in size as well.. so thats understandable to my context.
  3. They play with each others toys. This is inevitable! No matter how hard i try to explain cars is for boys and hello kitty is for girls.. i do sometime see my son playing with his sisters toys every now and then. Truthfully.. it drives me nuts!!! >.<
  4. They copy each other most of the time. It can be pretty irritating when one child say they don’t eat greens and the very next second you hear the second child say he doesn’t as well. (it drives me craaaazzzy at times!) But there can be good moments to it as well, for instance potty training was a bliss because my son follows his sister to the toilet for both big and small business*
  5. They share the same clothes. As mentioned earlier, my daughter is slightly on the smaller size, hence on some occasions they do share the same clothes and shoes as well. 😛

Do you have a boy and a girl, or perhaps going to have one?

I would say enjoy and embrace every little moment watching them grow side by side along with each other as these are simply just precious…well, in my context it’s forever going to be embarked etched in my heart.

Balancing life as a Working Mom

Chinese New Year started out with a big bang disaster this year. I have been completely prepared and extremely careful praying + pumping my children with vitamins making sure that their body immune system is high and mighty.. however completely neglected to practice them on myself.

imageChinese New Year is a day where we share the tradition to spend time with the family. This year we headed in to Singapore followed by heading back home to visit my parents before heading home. Unfortunately for me, i caught an horrible flu bug during my time in Singapore (first day of Chinese New Year). Needless to say, on such a big celebration (in asia) all the clinics we could think of was closed as it was a public holiday. Hence, i had no choice but to head to the Emergency Room at the Hospital to get a prescription of medication for myself. Mind you~ i waited a good 2 hours just to see the doctor!
I was given a 7 day course of Antibiotics due to a severe inflammation happening on my throat and some other medication to relief the pain and discomfort that comes along with it.

imageWith a list of things to do, relatives to visit and dinners to attend i caught the flu bug in between (while on the antibiotics). Today is almost 2 weeks i have been out (totally missing out the fun on Chinese New Year and Valentines Day) and yet i am not getting any better! Leaving me into resorting to Chinese herbal medication to get better (Once they are open after an extremely long Chinese new year break – which to some can last a good 10 days!).

imageBalancing life as a working mom is extra tough when sick. Juggling between the children, the festive season celebration, blogging, family and friends and the terrible flu is most certainly no fun at all. I realised working as a full time home minister (and yes Blogging to me is most certainly work that i strongly have passion about + a big bonus of personal developmental growth, confidence, network and finances that comes along with it) requires some Momma Balancing tips and tricks too! Here are my practices to Balancing my Life as a working mom.

Brainstorm – I often brainstorm the task for the day as well as what i have in mind to blog about and list them in my trusty calendar and note app in my mobile phone. My phone is my constant lifesaver which i carry around everywhere and have everything i have planned for written for the week down in the calendar. By nightfalls, i will have draft out a mini paragraph on what i have planned which it all interlinks back to my computer when i open it to write my post whenever it is due.

Sleep Time – What sleep time? No, i’m just kidding.. i do sleep and i’m taking extra long nap times (many thanks to the flu) but i realised that i have been taking a good 30 min before heading to bed to prepare/refine my blogpost and plans for the following day.

Social Media – Shoutouts are extremely important and most certainly makes a huge impact and difference in your page views for the day. Randomly pick an existing post or even a new post and have it scheduled at different timing to make a shoutout via social media to get the clicks up and away.

Have a Break – Sometimes i find there is never enough time in a day. Remember it is important to keep your health in check too ( and i often forget this step often too many times). Overworking one self can somehow affect our body immunity. Hence, it is equally as important to have a break.. head to the gym for a run, drink your favourite cup of tea, have a snack of fruit or even drink up on your glasses of water to keep yourself in check and listen to what your body needs and not constantly keeping the engine running.

Family – Never take Family for granted. Always remember you have someone that cares about you. I’m truly thankful to have a wonderful husband who takes care of me especially when i’m sick and sisters in law who is kind enough to help me babysit and entertained the kids whenever they are in town so i can catch up on some work and rest.

* this blog post written on the bed with a lemon sip on the right bed side table + hand sanitiser + room sanitiser + a box of kleenex tissues + yearning the thoughts to hug my kids in my arms again (haven’t hold them for a good 2 weeks now afraid of spreading the germs + virus to them)*

They are the Mother brand that carries Lipice, Oxy, Hada Labo, Selsun, Sunplay, Rohto C Cube, Deep Heating Rubs and the most recent, is Botanics. Until today, i still use a variety of series of products they carry and indeed is still one of my all time favourites (especially its lip balms and make up remover). Today. the Mentholatum family of products has earned a reputation for their quality and value.

imageIt has been a growing trend in the recent years that we learnt chemical is bad for us and anything natural, herbal, organic is known to be a better choice.Inspired by the goodness of nature, Mentholatum has recently developed a brand new facial series called the Botanics that offers consumers the best skincare results at an affordable price.

imageBotanics series is known to have used the finest ingredients with the highest quality natural herbal essences from flowers and herbs to give the best experience which only nature can produce. Each herb and flower were carefully selected based on their unique properties to offer exceptional results.

imageThe Face Wash tube (100g at RM14.90) is a handy tube that with a simple squeeze can perform an effective cleansing task on the face. It comes in 4 variants namely Hydra Whitening, Pore Refining, Deep Cleaning and Hydrating.

imageThe Pump Wash (150ml at Rm21.90) controls the usage amount more effectively. However it only comes in 2 variants namelyDeep Clean and Moisturising & Brightening while the Foaming Wash (160ml at RM22.50) is my personal favourite as each pumps comes out foamy and easily lathered on the face for a relaxing wash. It also comes in another 2 variants Oil & Blemish Control and Whitening.

imageLast but not least, they have sheet mask (22ml/pouch at RM6.90) infused with herbal essence and enriched Hyaluronic Acid to repair and rejuvenate the skin. The masks comes in 5 variants namely the Aloe Vera Hydrating Facial Mask, Pomegranate Anti-Oxidant Facial Mask, Rosemary Pore Refining Facial Mask, Rosehip Oil Brightening Facial Mask and Lavender for Soothing Facial Mask.

Each Range has a specific target for the skin made with a natural herbal essence ingredient.

  • Brightening – Rosehip Oil
  • Soothing – Lavendar
  • Hydrating – Aloe Vera
  • Anti-Oxidant – Pomegranate
  • Pore Refining – Rosemary

I was truly amazed by how much details the team has put together to infused the botanical theme in introducing the launch of The Botanics range. I had a personal guide in explaining the ingredients and botanical flowers infused into the products followed by me making myself a cup of flower tea infusing in with a number of my favourite flowers.

It was truly an amazing experience. Thank you Mentholatum for the extended invitation and a wonderful day!

Valentines Day ~ A special Day just for Friends + Family & Daddy.

Valentines Day is a day known for us to celebrate the purpose of life. To share and express our love to our love ones (and not only to our sweethearts) but friends and family as well. Nobody dislikes to be cherished, to be appreciated.. and humans being humans, we often forget to express to the people we love how much we care and how precious they are to us. Hence, Valentines Day is a great opportunity for us to reach out to them people whom we care so dearly about and celebrate how glad we are to have them in our lives.

imageHere are some alternative gift ideas that is meaningful yet doesn’t cost a bombshell for the pocket for your friends and family.

  1. Write a letter/postcard. Every year, i have a special list of friends around the world that i would send a letter/postcard to them during this day. I would express my thanks to them for being apart of their life. Its the best gift to be receiving a letter where it shares how grateful you are in treasuring the friendship/love.
  2. Bake a cake/cookie. I enjoy baking at times and when i do have the time my children will bake along with me. It is such a blessing to have made something together and sharing it with the people we love.
  3. V-Day Drink in a bottle. I often work in the kitchen and creating something healthy is one of the little motherhood wonders i enjoy. V-Day Drink is a drink i make in a bottle where i decorate its exterior with some hearts and pretty cursive romantic wordings and give it to the ones i care about. Some of my neighbours love receiving these little gifts and i feel awesome making them!
  4. Video. Record a personalized video for that special someone and send it to them expressing to them how important they are to you and thankful you are in having them in your life. It doesn’t have to be a professionally done.. after all, its the rough edges that makes it that much more meaningful.
  5. Coffee + Cake + A photo. These days, with technology not many develop photos much. Take this opportunity to print your favourite photo of you and that favourite person to give him/her on this meaningful day. I like to add a little lovey dovey note at the back to just to have it that tad bit more meaningful.

imageTruth is, i am quite a hopelessly romantic kind of person. I enjoy and love feeling and making my other half felling all butterflies in the tummy.. being all dressed up and looking fabulous for the night.. to have been showered or to shower my other half with endless mushy-ness, Love letters, Poetry, Flowers, Chocolates, Fine Dining… you name it! I am quite a hardcore lover for Romance! However, when you have a family of your own Valentines Day is different. It is no longer just the two. It is so much more than that! To me, it is 3x more special to have the day celebrating with your own little creations and partner for life expressing and teaching the little ones the appreciation of love.

imageHere are some alternative gift ideas that you can spend Valentines day as family (your children+life partner)

  1. Spread the love. Let your kids make daddy a simple breakfast (the little ones can spread some butter or avocado on toast and pour daddy a glass of juice).
  2. Make a DIY Card. Having the children get together in doing a little project for daddy while mommy can write a little poetry as a note inside.
  3. Decorations. Make a big banner and some heart shaped cut outs and have the little ones decorate the house for a big daddy surprise when he comes home!
  4. Indoor Picnic + Chocolate +Flowers. Have them children give your partner chocolates and flowers while you make cute little love sandwiches, heart shaped fruit platter, salads and enjoy them over picnic while listening to love songs.
  5. Love Notes. Write little love notes “10 reasons why we love you Daddy” and hide them under daddy’s pillow for him to read just before he goes to bed.

Lets take this day to celebrate and express LOVE to those people whom we care about!
